Judging
Kat received her ‘R’ from USEF in January 2017 in Hunter/ Hunt Seat Equitation/ and Hunter Breeding after mentoring with the wonderful judge, Mike Rosser. She also holds an ‘r’ in Jumpers. With her license, she has already judged several USEF ‘AA’, ‘A’, and ‘B’ rated shows around the country, including Kentucky, Sonoma, St. Louis, Chicago, Colorado, Waco, Loudoun, Ocala, Rosemount, Ledges, Tryon, and Raleigh, just to name a few.
She is also an experienced IHSA, IEA, and NCEA judge, and she is very familiar with the format and rules for all these associations. With her IHSA experience coaching for the University of Georgia from 1995-1999, and her IEA experience, including the National Reserve Champion Middle School team, she is an excellent judge for these competitions. She has also judged NCEA shows, and she is very comfortable with that format as well.
She absolutely loves judging, and is available to judge shows of all levels. Please contact her at [email protected] or 706-474-8490 to inquire about judging jobs. Please see the links below to see her full resume and her full list of judging experience.

Equine Appraisals
Most people use equine appraisals for tax-deductible donations or for court cases. The IRS requires anyone who is donating a horse worth $5,000 or more to obtain a qualified appraisal. Kat is a certified equine appraiser with the American Society of Equine Appraisers (ASEA). She has been certified since 1996, and she has completed over a thousand equine appraisals in the last 21 years. She was awarded the designation of Senior Appraiser this year by ASEA, the highest designation given to appraisers by the organization. She was awarded this honor due to her experience and completion of several courses regarding current standards of appraisal practice in this country. She is one of only about 40 appraisers to be given that designation in the US and Canada.
Kat uses her extensive experience in the equine industry to develop fair and comprehensive appraisals. Even though her experience as a trainer is in the hunter/ jumper industry, she has also completed many appraisals for western, dressage, and event horses.
She is reliable, responsible, courteous, and thorough with all of her appraisals. The completed appraisal is a 10+ page report with all of the necessary information to arrive at your horse’s value. Most importantly, she is prompt. Once she receives all of the information from you, she can usually send the completed appraisal to you within a week’s time. She has many repeat clients, and she has several schools and programs that continually refer her name to people looking for a certified appraiser.
Please contact Kat at [email protected] or (706)474-8490 if you are in need (or think you may be in need) of an equine appraisal. She can walk you through the process and answer all your questions.
